The key point here is that you need to have a good idea of what keywords your customers are using and how to best help them find what they want. It's important to target variant keywords because they anticipate the numerous ways that a potential lead may find your business during a Google search, and maximizing potential visibility for highly commercial queries.
Some keyword variations are more useful than others, and there are a few reasons why you’d want to target each one separately. It may be that one or two of them are more lucrative than the others. Using synonyms is a great way to make your writing more interesting. Although synonyms do not contribute towards your Keyphrase Density Score, they do increase the number of times your keyword appears in the context of your website. You may want to use synonyms because you're worried it will be too much, but there is a simple trick you can use to ease the load: Look at the Keyphrase Distribution check in the Yoast SEO plugin in the All-in-One WordPress SEO & Maintenance Tools tab under the Optimization section of the Plugins page.
